## Curated Access

Curated Access is TikkBay's invite-only guest-list product for organizers who hand-pick every guest. Use it for product launches, private dinners, members-only events, investor briefings, fashion previews, listening parties, brand activations, and any event where the room matters more than the headcount.

### What you get

- **Hand-picked guest list.** Every registration lands in your console for review. Approve, decline, or hold for later.
- **A branded share link** — a memorable URL plus a QR code. Drop it in your invites, WhatsApp, email, or print materials.
- **Tamper-proof digital passes.** Approved guests receive a branded PDF + QR code via email. Passes are designed in our customizer and carry the host's logo, colours, and salutation.
- **Phone-based door scanning.** Your staff scans on a mobile phone; the platform verifies each pass against the approved list in real time.
- **Custom registration fields.** Capture exactly what you need — RSVP +1 count, dietary restrictions, table preferences, anything.
- **Open/close window control.** Schedule when the form opens and closes; the platform enforces it.
- **Hard caps.** Set a maximum number of registrations independent of the pack quota.

### How it works (four steps)

1. **Choose a pack.** Pick the tier that matches your guest-list size. Pay once. Pricing is per-event; packs do not expire between purchase and your event start.
2. **Share your link.** You receive a branded, memorable URL and a QR code. Distribute it through your invitation channels.
3. **Approve who fits.** Every registration appears in the organizer console with full contact details. Approve, decline, or hold.
4. **Scan at the door.** Approved guests receive a tamper-proof QR pass with your branding. Your staff scans on their phone; the platform confirms entry against the approved list.

### How to get a pack

There are two entry points, both of which result in the same product behaviour:

**For existing organizers** (already running events on the platform):

1. Log into your organizer dashboard.
2. Open an event and enable Curated Access.
3. Choose a pack tier and complete payment via Paystack or Flutterwave.
4. The guest list is provisioned immediately. You can share the link as soon as payment confirms.

**For new clients** (no organizer account yet) — the direct funnel:

2. Pick a pack and click through to its dedicated form.
3. Enter your event details (date, name, contact, currency).
4. Pay via Paystack or Flutterwave; the platform auto-provisions an organizer account, event, and guest list.
5. You receive a one-time claim link by email to set your password and finish setup.

### Public URL conventions

Once a guest list is provisioned, the share URL takes one of three forms (the platform always returns the shortest one available):

1. **Guest-list short code** (preferred when set) — `https://tikkbay.com/g/{short-code}` where the organizer chose a memorable slug like `g/launch-night`. Case-insensitive.
2. **Event short code fallback** — `https://tikkbay.com/g/{event-code}` reuses the parent event's code when the organizer didn't set a guest-list-specific one.
3. **Share token** (canonical, always works) — `https://tikkbay.com/g/{40-char-token}`. The cryptographically random token is generated at creation time and is the bearer credential; it works even if both short codes are deleted.

### Curated Access — frequently asked

**Does a pack expire?** A pack is purchased for a specific event. The pack stays usable for that event from purchase through to event close.

**Can I exceed the pack quota?** The pack quota is the number of *approved* guests. The registration form can accept more registrations than the quota (organizers set the overflow cap), but only `quota` approvals can be issued passes. Approve carefully.

**Can I require manual approval for each registration?** Yes. Toggle "Require approval" on the guest list; every submission lands as `pending` and waits for your decision. Without this toggle, eligible registrations auto-approve.

**Can I close the form early?** Yes. The form respects `opens_at` and `closes_at` timestamps; you can also flip `registration_open` off manually to halt new submissions while keeping the list visible.

**Is the pass customisable?** Yes. The pass PDF customizer in the organizer dashboard controls logo, colours, salutation, intro/outro text, and the QR placement. Salutations are constrained to a server-side allowlist for security.

**What about refunds?** Pack purchases are governed by the platform refund policy at [/legal/refund-policy](https://tikkbay.com/legal/refund-policy). The general rule: refunds available until the guest list goes live, prorated thereafter; full refunds are available within the platform-wide refund window if no registrations were collected.

**Can guests bring +1s?** Yes — add a custom field on the registration form (e.g. "Companion name"). The pass is issued to the registrant only; their +1 enters under their name. For multi-pass families, ask the registrant to fill the form once per guest.

**How does door scanning work?** A scanner web app verifies each pass against the approved list and marks it `redeemed` so it can't be reused. Scanning works on any modern mobile browser; no app install required.
