Marketing Executive

Remote · Full-Time · Marketing Staff · Apply by July 31, 2026

The role

TikkBay is building Africa's go to event discovery platform. Our role is not to quietly process tickets in the background. It is to be the first place a Lagos student, an Abuja professional, or a Port Harcourt creative opens when they want to know what is happening this weekend. When we get that right, organisers line up to list with us because that is where the audience already is.

We are hiring a Marketing Executive to own the full growth motion behind that vision. This is not a social media posting role. This is a direct response, conversion focused, revenue adjacent role where your work is measured by tickets sold, events listed, and user return rates.

What you will actually do day to day
Drive ticket sales for every event listed on the platform through direct outreach on Instagram DM, Instagram comments, TikTok, Twitter DMs, and WhatsApp broadcasts. Our best performing channel right now is direct messaging, and you will own and scale it.

Build and send email campaigns to two distinct audiences: attendees (event recommendations, weekend picks, sold out alerts, post event follow ups) and organisers (platform updates, performance tips, feature launches, listing best practices).

Write and publish blog content that ranks on Google for event discovery searches, drives organic traffic, and positions TikkBay as the authority on the Nigerian and African events landscape. Topics will range from "best concerts in Lagos this month" to "how to sell out your first event."

Plan and execute social media content across Instagram, TikTok, Twitter or X, and Facebook with the explicit goal of driving ticket clicks, not vanity likes. Every post should have a job.

Build partnerships with event bloggers, micro influencers, campus ambassadors, and niche community pages who can amplify listed events into their audiences.

Run coordinated promotional campaigns for featured and flagship events listed on the platform, including paid ads where justified, influencer seeding, email sequences, and countdown content.

Own the organiser acquisition funnel in partnership with the sales team, by making TikkBay so visibly active that event organisers approach us rather than the other way around.

Analyse campaign performance across every channel, double down on what works, kill what does not, and report weekly on tickets sold, email open rates, DM conversion rates, blog traffic, and event listing growth.

The success metric for this role is simple. If tickets are selling, events are listing, and attendees are returning week after week, you are winning. If any of those three stalls, that is the problem to solve.

What we look for

- 2 or more years of hands on digital marketing experience, preferably in events, entertainment, tech, or a consumer platform where growth mattered more than polish.
- Strong copywriter who can write a DM that converts, an email that gets opened, a blog post that ranks, and an Instagram caption that earns the swipe. Samples will be requested.
- Proven experience running direct outreach campaigns on Instagram DMs, Twitter DMs, and WhatsApp broadcasts with measurable conversion outcomes. Bring receipts.
- Comfortable managing and publishing on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter or X, and Facebook, with a specific understanding of what drives engagement in Nigerian and African audiences.
- Familiar with at least one email marketing tool (Mailchimp, Brevo, MailerLite, Klaviyo, or similar) and can read open rates, click rates, and conversion data without needing a developer.
- Basic SEO fluency: keyword research, on page structure, and why a blog post ranks or does not.
- Deep, lived understanding of the Nigerian and African events and entertainment landscape. You know the difference between a shutdown concert and a soft launch, which hashtags still work on Instagram, and which Lagos neighbourhoods respond to which kinds of events.
- Analytical mindset. You do not just post and hope. You track, learn, and adjust.
Self directed. This is a remote role. Nobody will be checking your browser tabs.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience growing a social or community account from under 10,000 to over 100,000 followers. A portfolio of blog content that ranks on Google. Prior relationships with Nigerian event bloggers, influencers, or campus ambassador networks. Familiarity with WhatsApp Business broadcast tools, Meta Ads Manager, or TikTok Ads Manager.

What we offer

- Flexible remote work arrangement. Work from Lagos, Abuja, Accra, or anywhere you do your best work.
- Competitive monthly compensation with performance bonuses tied directly to ticket sales and organiser acquisition milestones. Your wins translate to your earnings.
- Direct ownership and impact on a fast growing platform that is shaping how Africa discovers events. Your name will be attached to campaigns thousands will see.
- Professional development budget for courses, conferences, and tools that make you better at your craft.
- Early access to every event on the platform, including VIP tickets to flagship partner events for you and a plus one.
- A team that moves fast, tests often, and celebrates wins. No bureaucracy. No waiting three weeks for feedback. You ship, you learn, you improve.
- A front row seat to the African events and entertainment industry, with real relationships across organisers, venues, artists, and media.

A global event discovery and ticketing platform. Find something worth dressing up for.
