Our Refund Philosophy

At TikkBay, we facilitate connections between Event Organizers and Attendees. While ticket sales are ultimately managed by Organizers, this policy outlines the framework for refunds processed through our platform, ensuring clarity and fairness for everyone. Please read this policy carefully to understand your rights and obligations.

1 Non-Refundable Service Fees

To operate the TikkBay platform, including providing secure payment processing, customer support, and continuous feature development, we charge a service fee on each paid ticket. This fee is essential for maintaining the reliability and security of our services.

All TikkBay service fees are non-refundable under all circumstances, including but not limited to event cancellation, postponement, or dissatisfaction.

This policy applies even if an Event Organizer issues a full or partial refund for the ticket price. The service fee will be deducted from the total amount before any refund is processed.

2 Impact of Discount Codes on Service Fees

Event Organizers may offer discount codes to Attendees. These codes reduce the ticket price but do not affect the TikkBay service fee.

The service fee is always calculated based on the original ticket price before any discount is applied. Therefore, even if a discount code makes a ticket 100% free, the full service fee associated with the original ticket price must still be paid by the Attendee.

Example: If a ticket costs ₦10,000 and has a ₦500 service fee, and you apply a 100% discount code, the ticket price becomes ₦0, but you will still be required to pay the ₦500 service fee to complete the transaction.

3 Eligibility for Refunds

Refund policies for the ticket portion of your purchase are set directly by the Event Organizer. TikkBay does not have the authority to issue refunds without the Organizer’s approval, except in specific cases outlined below.

Event Cancellation: If an event is cancelled by the Organizer, Attendees are typically entitled to a refund of the ticket price. The Organizer is responsible for initiating this process.
Event Postponement: If an event is postponed, tickets will generally be valid for the new date. The Organizer will determine if refunds are offered and for what period.
Organizer’s Discretion: Organizers may offer refunds for other reasons at their discretion. Please check the event page or contact the Organizer directly for their specific policy.

4 How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

Check the Event Policy: First, review the refund policy stated on the event page where you purchased your tickets.
Contact the Organizer: The quickest way to request a refund is to contact the Event Organizer directly through the contact information provided on the event page or your order confirmation email.
Contact TikkBay Support: If you are unable to reach the Organizer or believe your case warrants special consideration (e.g., suspected fraud), you may contact our support team at support@tikkbay.com. Please include your order number and a detailed explanation of your request.

5 Legal Compliance and Dispute Resolution

This policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. While we aim to resolve disputes amicably, any legal action shall be brought in the courts of Enugu, Nigeria. This policy is designed to comply with relevant consumer protection laws, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA).

TikkBay reserves the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated policy on our website. Your continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
