1. Introduction

TikkBay ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our event ticketing platform.

By using TikkBay, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use our services.

This policy applies to all users of TikkBay, including event organizers and attendees, and covers information collected through our website, mobile applications, and related services.

Automatically Collected Information

When you use our platform, we automatically collect:

• Usage data and browsing patterns
• Transaction and ticket purchase history
• Event page view data and visitor analytics
• Meta browser identifiers, ad click identifiers, event page URLs, IP address, and browser details when you grant marketing consent

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Process ticket purchases and payments
• Send transactional emails (order confirmations, tickets, reminders)
• Communicate about events, promotions, and updates
• Detect and prevent fraud and security threats
• Deliver WhatsApp notifications and marketing campaigns (with your consent)
• Power AI chatbot responses and improve support quality
• Verify organizer and service provider identities through KYC processes
• Facilitate service provider marketplace bookings, messaging, and escrow payments
• Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
• Measure and optimize an eligible event organiser's Meta advertising when you grant marketing consent
• Comply with legal obligations

For emergency account assistance described in our Terms, authorized TikkBay personnel may review relevant account records and organizer-provided financial details. Platform-wide managed access is restricted to super administrators using their own identities. We record the reason, contact attempts, source of details, staff identity, timestamps and financial configuration changes for security, accountability and dispute resolution. We notify organizer account owners of such changes and limit bank details included in notifications. These records do not represent consent where consent has not been obtained; we must have an applicable lawful basis for the processing.

4. Information Sharing

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

• With Event Organizers: When you purchase tickets, we share your information with the event organizer to facilitate your attendance.
• With Payment Processors: We share payment information with Paystack and Flutterwave to process transactions.
• With Service Providers: We may share information with third parties who perform services on our behalf.
• With Meta: If an eligible event organiser enables Meta measurement for an event and you grant marketing consent, we may send consented page-view and purchase events to Meta Platforms. Purchase contact fields are normalized and SHA-256 hashed before server delivery. Meta browser identifiers, IP address, and browser details are sent in their original form.
• For Legal Compliance: We may disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights.

Note: We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

• SSL/TLS encryption for data transmission
• Secure password hashing
• Regular security audits and monitoring
• Access controls and authentication measures
• PCI-DSS compliant payment processing

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to:

• Provide our services to you
• Comply with legal and regulatory requirements
• Resolve disputes and enforce agreements

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your data
• Portability: Request transfer of your data
• Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing communications

To exercise these rights, please contact us at [email protected].

8. Cookies & Tracking

We remember your cookie choices in this browser for up to one year, unless you clear browser storage or the consent notice changes. If you decline all optional cookies, we may show a reminder after 24 hours, at most once per day. A reminder does not enable optional cookies or change your choices. You can review or withdraw consent at any time using the Cookie preferences button.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to:

• Remember your preferences and settings
• Authenticate users and prevent fraud
• Analyze site traffic and usage patterns
• Deliver relevant content and advertisements

Google Analytics operates in privacy-restricted Consent Mode with analytics storage denied by default. Before you grant Analytics consent, Google Analytics does not read or write analytics cookies or device identifiers, but may receive consent status and measurements without cookies for aggregate measurement and modeling. If you grant Analytics consent, standard analytics storage and fuller reporting are enabled. The TikkBay analytics tag keeps advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalization denied. You can change your Analytics choice at any time through the cookie preferences button. See Google's Privacy Policy for information about Google's processing.

An eligible event organiser may connect a Meta Pixel to a specific event. After you grant marketing consent, that event page may send PageView and ViewContent events. A completed paid ticket order may send a Purchase event through both the browser Pixel and TikkBay's server-side Conversions API. The two Purchase events use one shared event identifier so Meta can treat them as the same conversion.

Meta tracking is off until you grant marketing consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time through the cookie preferences button. Withdrawal prevents future Meta events and does not affect your ability to browse events or buy tickets. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. See Meta's Privacy Policy for information about Meta's processing.

9. Children's Privacy

TikkBay is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

10. Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new policy on this page
• Updating the "Last updated" date
• Sending an email notification for significant changes

Your continued use of TikkBay after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
